Europcar Motors into Venezuela

Paris, 14th December 2005 - Europcar, recently voted “Latin America’s Leading Car Hire” company at the 2005 World Travel Awards, has opened new car rental operations in Venezuela. Starting with operations at the nation’s two key international Airports – Caracas & Valencia - Europcar Venezuela is well positioned to develop the network throughout the major tourist and business centers of the country.

The licensee is part of the Domingo Alonso SA, a major importer of Volkswagen Group vehicles with strong presence throughout Latin America. Domingo Alonso SA, in undertaking a diversification strategy into complementary marketplaces, including car rental and mobility services, already holds significant interests within the travel industry and is well positioned for further expansion.

Carlos Flores, Regional Franchise Director for Europcar International commented:
“Venezuela is a key country within the Latin American marketplace and one showing significant growth potential. The deal with Domingo Alonso SA allows Europcar to open new territories in a controlled expansion and strengthen Europcar’s existing operations in this region.”
