Europcar and Jetfleet launch operations in India

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, October 03, 2006: Europcar, Europe’s leading car rental company, has signed an exclusive agreement with Jetfleet PLD to provide a unique mobility solution targeted at the Indian and expatriate corporate and leisure travel business in India.

 

Jetfleet, a Jetair promoted entity, commenced operations in the capital New Delhi on 3rd October 2006. Further openings are scheduled to follow with Bangalore in early November and Mumbai by early December. Europcar’s network in India will be extended over the next two years to provide a comprehensive range of services in Agra, Ahmedabad, Chandigrath,.Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata and Pune.

Commenting on the Europcar-Jetfleet partnership, Mr. Douglas Hunt, CEO, Europcar Asia Pacific said, “Partnering with Jetfleet aligns Europcar with a leading and dynamic player in India and reinforces our existing network within the Asia-pacific region. Furthermore, besides the obvious synergies to both the partners, this partnership should also provide the corporate travellers in India with a truly international personalised mobility solution”.

 

Europcar customers will be provided with an exclusively tailored personal mobility solution that responds to specific market needs.

 

All vehicles should fitted with advanced GPS systems. Other value-added services will include a first aid kit, a mini-refrigerator, laptop and mobile phone chargers as well as newspapers.

 

The initial fleet of 30 vehicles includes newer models from a range of brands in order to meet market needs, allow a frequent replacement schedule, optimized comfort levels, and ensure the safety of customers.
